SESSION TWO 09/30/2009

Session Two brought extra-ordinary insight and information.  The inquiry group held two fishbowls.  The first involved leadership from Laney College including department heads and faculty.  The group revealed what's worked and what hasn't in the Early College and concurrent enrollment programs they've experience.  This was followed after a tasty
dinner by a fishbowl of district and charter leaders discussing their diverse experiences leading similar programs in their schools.
Each Fishbowl was video-taped and will be available for all who could not be in attendance.
A student focus group is next... Stay tuned!

    OAKLAND INQUIRY PROJECT

The OAKLAND INQUIRY PROJECT is a project that engages ten Oakland school leaders from charter schools and District schools in a sustained, facilitated inquiry project for one year.  The inquiry will focus on perfecting or initiating an Early College model of providing access to College courses for all students.  This facilitated inquiry cycle will conclude with a published "Field Guide" of recommendations, tips, and strategies for use by other schools and school leaders as a resource when seeking to implement a similar innovative practice.
